Lifeguard Training Courses & Certification To enroll in the lifeguarding course, participants must first pass a swimming skills prerequisite, which includes a swim-tread-swim and a timed event sequence. During the course, participants will be trained and assessed on various lifeguarding skills, including water rescues, extrications, CPR, AED, and First Aid. At the end of the course, participants must successfully complete three final skills assessments: Rotate in-conduct surveillance – rotate out Timed Single-rescuer CPR Scenario Multiple Rescuer Response Scenario Additionally, participants must pass a final written exam with 50 questions, achieving a minimum score of 80%. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certification valid for 2 years, depending on the specific lifeguarding course completed.
